Published every 15 days during the French university year, September to June, Revue Faire is a vital addition to the small selection of journals addressing graphic design from a critical standpoint. Every issue generally consists of a single essay on a different creative subject, presented in the magazine’s glorious graphic style.

This issue pays a visit to the International Library of Fashion Research in Oslo, home to a massive collection of fashion ephemera including show invitations, brand documents, lookbooks and fashion magazines. Founded by Elise by Olsen, the library’s existance away from the fashion capitals of the world has leant it a special, perhaps obscure air; here, Aude Fellay reviews the experience of visiting the space, notes its characteristics and mood, and digs through the archives with RF founders Sacha and Francois to select a host of items for reproduction. 

Fellay notes that the library and its team are often critical of the fashion process they are archiving—it is an analysis of the industry rather than a blind celebration of it.
