Notes: Juicy, floral, one-of-a-kind. About the Fruit: Nothing is as Southern Californian as the Boysenberry. Walter Knott (of Knott's Berry Farm) planted boysenberry vines in the early 1930s and he came to discover that the grew voraciously on his land. This berry has become the iconic berry of the area, and surprisingly, is only found for 3 weeks out of the year. Origins: These organic boysenberries come from Murray Family Farms and were around only briefly this year as the fiercely hot sun made it challenge for the farm hands to pick before nature got them instead. Murray’s not only has the largest variety of fruit at the Santa Monica Farmers Market, but they grow very specific fruits throughout the year—Steve, their son, is a huge fruit nerd, so he’s always traveling and finding new varietals of produce that are hard to come by, such as boysenberries and olallieberries. Ingredients: *boysenberries *cane sugar *lemon juice *certified organic Made in United States of America.
